After seeing Cirque du Soleil, I had to learn what they were doing and was so happy to find Bumbershoot, and it's better than I imagined it would be! I love combining strength with beauty. People that take classes at bumbershoots will accidentally get amazing bodies. I say accidentally because it's so fun and interesting to learn tricks and skills, your focus will be on skill building, and then next think you know the body is strong and healthy.

I visit Bumbershoot and I am surrounded by amazing people from all walks of life. We come together in the studio and for an hour we take our feet off the ground and fly.

I've been a student at Bumbershoot Aerial Arts since they first opened their doors in Oct 2009 and have never looked back! Getting in shape is just one of the perks that comes with learning new tricks, twisting, dropping, and bending in the air. Now after almost 4 years of aerial silks, I have developed a weird obsession to climb trees and random objects!
Joelle, the coaches, and colorful studio make me look forward to learning and conquering new things in class each and every week. One of the highlights that I look forward to is participating in Bumbershoot's Student Showcases. It lets me be creative, get super strong and show my friends and family what I am always talking and obsessing about!
Bumbershoot Aerial Arts is such a unique and important addition to the St. Louis community, truly one of the best things about this city. I am so glad to be a part of it.

I came to Bumbershoot in January of 2013 after some exercise related injuries/illnesses had kept me off my feet for a while. As I was able to move back into being active again, I knew I wanted to do something different than the mundane, tiring workouts I had been doing before. I had heard about Bumbershoot from a couple of different people and it sounded like a fun way to work out so I thought I'd give it a shot. I was surprised to realize that after only a few classes, I no longer saw aerial as a means of exercise and instead started seeing it as so much more. Bumbershoot quickly became a place where I set goals, challenge myself, face my fears, and laugh... a lot. The thing I love most about Bumbershoot is the supportive community of people who are always uplifting and encouraging. Now when I walk into my class, I don't even think about the great workout that I'm getting... instead I simply enjoy growing as an aerialist and watching my friends do the same!
