What brought you to Bumbershoot Aerial Arts?
I used to play on the scaffold at work as a construction worker. When I found out there was a place for grown-ups to do circus, I was thrilled. Aerial arts allows me to express my physicality, and is an outlet for my creative imagination. Circus feeds my soul.
What is your favorite apparatus to work on?
Rope. Also trapeze, 'cause it has 2 Ropes in it.
What is your favorite thing about Bumbershoot?
The fellowship of strong women, who share the joy, blood, sweat and tears of aerial. All the men of Bumbershoot, are granted the status of Honorary Strong Women for the purpose of this question.
What kinds of things do you do when you aren’t hanging in the air?
Work on bricks, make things better then when I found them. Bikini blade. Grow vegetables to share. Loll in the sun with my wolf pack. Ice, feed, and rest my muscles 'til next class.
What is your favorite dessert?
Coconut cream pie.
If you could run away to a desert island with one person from Bumbershoot who would it be?
I would take everybody and have a Gilligan's island circus island.
What is your philosophy of aerial and life?
What YOU offer, is unique. When creating, you bring your experience, strength, and hope to your performance. Practice, and work it out--but never try to be anybody else. You are enough, already. Besides, everyone else is taken.
