What brought you to Bumbershoot Aerial Arts?
I saw a picture on Facebook of people hanging upside down from trapezes while wearing tutus. I decided that this should be part of my life.
What is your favorite apparatus to work on?
Definitely trapeze, though I hope to try rope at some point.
What is your favorite thing about Bumbershoot?
The instructors don't let us take things too seriously.
What kinds of things do you do when you aren’t hanging in the air?
In the mundane world, I am an IT technician. I also work for a costumer making corsets and geeky hawaiian shirts.
What is your favorite dessert?
I have a weakness for keylime pie.
When you are having a tough day in class, what do you tell yourself?
I remind myself that a bad attitude is contagious and other students need to see determination, not defeat.
What is your favorite trick? Least favorite?
I love ankle hang, though I seem to be in the minority. My current nemesis is inverted egg. Some days my body just won't cooperate.
If you could run away to a desert island with one person from Bumbershoot who would it be?
Janelle Cottrell, she is a riot!
Do you have a favorite memory from class or performing?
One day we took turns getting into Catcher's Hang and holding another student off the ground. It was awesome to see how solid that pose can be.
