Class Descriptions


There is beauty in staying low to the ground! In this class we will be exploring how to creatively connect new shapes and transitions on Silks while staying low. Students will be guided through some basic choreographed sequences as we also keep on working on stretching and strengthening exercises. Come prepared to have fun and play on Silks in a new way!"

Prerequisites
  • Minimum 12 weeks of Intro level Silks classes
  • Solid understanding and ability to execute most if not all Silks Intro skills
  • 10-sec hold in both Classic block and Russian block (squat position)
  • Ability to put on a foot knot from the ground on both sides without making a "boot" and enough stamina and squeeze tolerance to stay in it for 30 seconds

Ages 13 and up. This class is a fun, beginner friendly introduction to Aerial fabric or "Silks" which is a very strong fabric that we climb on. If you are excited about climbing, wrapping, and playing in the air while supported by a fabric, this is the class for you! There are no prerequisites to take this class and it is designed to help you build a solid foundation in aerial strength and technique. This takes time, however, so students should expect to take this class multiple times before being ready to take Silks 1. With each time they repeat the Silks Intro class, instructors will keep continuing students challenged by giving more variations and help mastering what they have learned. Be patient and enjoy the process! Come prepared to work hard, and have fun! 

Description: In this class students will explore both new and familiar climbs and footknots, and find creative ways to combine their silks skills.

Prerequisites

One session, of any length, of Silks 1

 Students can expect to play with sequences on Silks from figure 8 footlocks like Rebecca Split sequence as well as learning multiple ways of getting into double foot knots. Students should expect to repeat this 6 week class several times before they will be ready to take Silks 2. Coaches will keep continuing students challenged by giving them opportunity to work towards mastery of skills they already know as well as harder variations when appropriate.

  • Solid understanding and ability to execute most if not all Silks Intro skills
  • Classic climb to top and inchworm down with good form
  • Demonstrate ability to Russian climb at least half way up and Angel down safely
  • Ability to put on a foot knot from the ground on both sides without making a "boot" and enough stamina and squeeze tolerance to stay in it for 30 seconds
  • 10-second bent-arm hang in hollow body

In this class students will learn their First Drops! We will also work on sequences like Same Side Stand Up and Catchers Hang sequence as well as Double Ankle Hang and new climbs like Big Russian and Sous Sous climb. Students should come prepared to stretch their adrenaline muscle while working hard and having fun!

  • Minimum of 12 weeks of silks 2 classes or private lessons
  • Mastery of most if not all level 2 skills
  • Must be able to Russian climb to the top 
  • Must be able to invert in a straddle FROM THE AIR (fabrics together AND apart) without help. Perfect form not necessary.
  • Solid leg lock sequence with good form on both sides and give verbal explanation

In this class, students will work on skills such as hipkey, Trapeze drop, Skater, Crochet climb and more! Strength, stamina, and good form will be a focus in this class. Come prepared to work hard and have fun. An emphasis will also be placed on fabric theory and understanding "what's holding you up?" Be prepared to hang out in this class for a while before being ready to move up to level 5.

  • Mastery of most if not all level 3 silks skills
  • Crossback straddle with good form, straight legs and no arching
  • Perform superman drop without tagging pole in pullover
  • Perform 360 dive and give verbal explanation
  • 3-minute sequence to demonstrate endurance
  • Hold 10-second bent arm hang then invert with good form

Static Trapeze is a steel bar suspended by a thick rope on each side that kind of looks like a swing. In this super fun beginner friendly class students will learn basic trapeze skills and build strength, stamina, and technique. Students will be encouraged to work at their own pace and coaches will work with them where they are at. No prerequisites. Come prepared to work hard and have fun in a unique and supportive environment.

This class will cover both level 1 and level 2 curriculum for those who are ready. Non Trapeze people level 1 and up are encouraged to join!

This class will cover level 2 and 3 material.

This class will cover both level 3 and 4 material.

In Rope 2 we will learn Double ankle hang, Catchers sequence, Fankick to hip key, Same side stand up and much more. We will also begin to work on more dynamic tricks such as beat to front balance.

  • Has a practice of working Aerial skills at least 2-3 times a week in class or Open Aerial
  • Must be able to Invert in a straddle from the air without tagging rope
  • Must have solid same side hook transition to crucifix on both sides
  • Solid footlock and front balance sequences from rope 1
  • Mastery of most if not all level 1 skills

Ages 13 and up. The Aerial Hoop, sometimes called Lyra, is a large metal hoop that is hung on a swivel and suspended from either one or two hang points. In this class students will build strength and get comfortable moving on, underneath, and above the hoop. Students will also have the opportunity to learn the basics of swinging, spinning, and orbiting. This beautiful apparatus will challenge and delight students as they learn to move confidently through space with the hoop as their partner. Come prepared to work hard and have fun! No prerequisites.

  • Roll up and down from hip hang with bar touches with control.
  • Inside knee hook on span set, slide to cradle both sides.
  • 3 connected tuck inversions on top of hoop.
  • 1 Knee hang with Rounde jambe both sides.
  • Single hip hang, transition to other single hip hang both ways.
  • Sit, roll to hips 1 handed both directions.
  • Mastery of most if not all Hoop 3 skills

Come play in the air while supported by aerial sling! The aerial sling is a beautiful form of suspended movement made of fabric hung in a loop or "hammock" attached at the same hang point. In this class, students will be guided through some basic aerial skills on the sling as well as ways to use the sling for stretching and strengthening exercises. Come prepared to have fun and try something new!

Prerequisites

2024 Prereqs, Slings 1
  • Ability to straddle and hold for 3 seconds with no spot from standing
  • Ability to hold a ball/tuck between fabrics for 3 seconds with no spot from standing
  • Ability to hang from knees on fabric or trapeze for 5 second
  • Comfortable with Silks Intro gazelle sequence in the knot - hook knee, pull up, pike over and exit safely


Students will build versatility in strength and technique with this fun high energy mixed level class. Students will work on Silks and Trapeze focusing on inversions, Pullovers, climbing and more. Attention will be given to technique for injury prevention and adaptations for higher levels. This class will benefit all levels of aerialist, and will increase total ability to train and not fatigue or lose form. No prerequisites!

Ground Circus

Always wanted to learn how to do a cartwheel or forward roll? Or maybe a handstand or a round off? This class is for you! Come join in the fun along side other beginner adults in this high energy, low stress, playful and engaging new class! Come prepared to have fun trying something new.

In this class the instructor will work with beginners through intermediate level to accomplish their goals in acrobatics, hand stands, and partnering. Attention will be given to establishing a solid acrobatic foundation from which to build as well as conditioning the body with drills and progressions. Flip, roll, dive, and jump your way to fitness and fun in this exciting new class! Come prepared to work hard, have fun, learn new things, and make friends while doing it!  No prerequisites.

This class will focus on the playful aspects of straps while getting a good workout in the process! 

Prerequisites
  • Inversion from the ground without help and holding 3 seconds at the top of the inversion. 
  • Hold a straight arm hang for 10 seconds
  • 12 second plank 

Straps 1 

Meathooks, support position, skin the cats, flares, and beats are the foundations of many movements in aerial (and straps). Students will use straps and fabric/hammock to progress their understanding of moving their body around an apparatus while hanging, spinning, and in support position (ie. Shoulder stand/roll-ups). 


Prerequisites

Prerequisites include:

  • instructor permission
  • minimum of 1 session in Beginner Straps
  • meathook on both sides
  • 3 connected skin the cats
  • cross arm front balance (any entrance)
  • straddle back from support beats (spotted entrance ok)
  • ability to flare on both sides and understanding of the flare pathway
  • actively working on back flags and back balances

This class will explore strength building and introductory tricks on the Trapeze and Silks.

This class is designed to give kids ages 5-8 an aerial experience in the fun and supportive environment that the circus community loves to provide! Learn the basics of climbing, foot knots, inversions and guided creative play. This class introduces kids bodies and minds to the building blocks of shapes and strength they will need to progress in aerial arts.

This class is for students who are familiar with all the Intro Tween Aerial material and are looking at refining their skills to move on to level 1 Tween Aerial. 

Prerequisites

Instructor permission to join Tween Power
● Classic Block / Working on Classic Climb
● Russian Block / Working on Russian Climb
● Controlled Inchworm down from either climb with minimal sliding
● Put on at least one foot knot correctly using hands
● Straddle in a knot (comfortable taking hands off poles)
● Gazelle, one leg over one pole
● Gazelle, one leg over both poles
● Climb into star sit from straddle

This class is designed to give kids ages 9-12 an aerial experience in a fun and supportive environment that the circus community loves to provide! Learn the basics of climbing, foot knots and conditioning. This class introduces Tween bodies and minds to the building blocks of shapes and strength they will need to progress in aerial arts.

Prerequisites
  • No prerequisites

In this class students will begin to work on level 1 skills on Silks, and Slings which include more complex tricks and sequences. Students can also look forward to conditioning to take skills like straddles and foot knots up into the air!

Solid explanation and execution of cartwheel belay

Bent arm tuck inversion on top of the hoop unassisted with pull to sit 

Beat to sit without help

Pullover with no jump and clean roll to sit

Comfortable working on top of the hoop
